We first met MetalGypsy (Jennifer Trieste) at Spooky Empire in full costume plus top hat. In a convention full of people dressed like zombies and ghouls Jenn stood out from the crowd and everyone wanted her picture… which is exactly the kind of gal that we are looking for to be an Angel Avenger. We pulled her aside and hired her on the spot.
Moments later Joel Wynkoop swoops by our booth (Joel is full of energy and “swoops” everywhere he goes) and drags Jenn away for a quick unscripted YouTube promo he’s about to shoot. It turns out that Jenn and Joel had already been in a film together… a Herschell Gordon Lewis indie horror/comedy/gameshow called The Uh-Oh Show (Available at Amazon). They both appear in the film, but they had not actually met each other until right then.
So in the span of about 5 minutes Jennifer meets us, is cast as an Angel Avenger, and is tossed into a commercial spot without a script with Joel (who doesn’t even know her name yet). We have since learned that this is pretty much a typical day in the life of MetalGypsy. Jenn has a crazy schedule that is non-stop chaos. We are fortunate to have her stop by and beat up our henchmen from time to time.
