Serial queen Kay Aldridge is one of our favorite “Angels of Action”. She was a tall and gorgeous model-turned-actress and one of the few early cliffhanger serial heroines to actually put up her dukes during the fight scenes. See her in the thick of things as jungle girl Nyoka Gordon in Nyoka and the Tigermen, one of the best (and/or most popular) of the Republic serials. Kay’s fans might also want to check out the lesser-known Haunted Harbor, especially if your interests include “damsels in distress” scenes. There are quite a few perilous scenarious for Kay and she spends just about every fight scene knocked out in a corner or tied up somewhere. Not quit as “liberated” as Nyoka, but Kay looks stunning no matter what she’s doing. Haunted Harbor is a fairly underrated serial, but it’s definitely worth a look if you have not yet checked it out. How can you go wrong when your serial has Kane Richmond (Spy Smasher), Kay Aldridge (Nyoka) and Roy Barcroft (Is there a serial he’s NOT in?)… and a sea serpent!

Kay is also in DAREDEVILS OF THE WEST (serial) with Allan Lane before he became ROCKY Lane. A true beauty and she loved being NYOKA.
I really appreciate your effort in bringing to light this little corner of film history. It’s things like that which can so easily get lost if no one is around to tell the story of them.
