In October Nick Cuti’s hardworking crew over at Ni-Cola Entertainment completed all filming for Moonie and The Spider Queen Episode One starring Nikoma DeMitro as Moonie. I think Nick is shooting for a January release!
The bulk of the film was shot in September and here is an excerpt from Nick’s behind-the-scenes report:
We shot the scenes of the two astronauts when they meet Moonie, the Starbabe, in the studio of Cinema Enigma, owned by MARK PARRIS. Moonie is supposed to be able to live in outer space without any life support systems and so a space suited Torry (WILLIAM AUGUST) first confronts the scantily clad Moonie (NIKOMA DeMITRO) on the hull of the Big Bang. Cinema Enigma has a sixteen foot tall green screen and since most of the scenes took place inside the ship it made shooting easy. The only drawback was that MARK had been unable to have his air conditioning system installed which meant everyone was incredibly hot. Rather than give up we incorporated the condition of the sweating actors, including Torry’s partner, Perry (ANTHONY WAYNE), into the screenplay. Only briefly costumed Moonie and NATASHA the Tarantula, didn’t seem to be affected by the heat. The AC problem will be corrected in the next few days making Cinema Enigma the perfect place to film. On Friday we shot at RAY HETZEL’S magnificent home in Land O Lakes. There we shot the Dream Girls (MEL HEFLIN, JANELLE, BRITTANY CARDELLA and A MYSTERY LADY), Moonie’s bath, Moonie’s Bedroom and the Jungle Sequences. I want to thank my crew, Director of Photography WHEAT, and JOHN LEWIS, KEN ANTHONY II, GARITH PETTIBONE, RYAN WORKMAN, TOM PICCARELLI and MEGAN CHRISTINE for their hard work. Also, model builder RANDALL COOPER, costumer SHIVA RODRIGUEZ, composer DAVID RAIKLEN and editor/compositor RANDY CARTER.
