Featuring the first appearance of Tara! Another Paragon
classic, now commanding extreme prices in the collector's
market (IF you can find a collector willing to part with
it)! This issue begins with “The Shade on the Dark
Continent” as Roger Brant (The Shade) receives a job offer
from Tara’s father, industrialist T.C. Freemont. Then it’s
the debt of “Tara the Jungle She-Cat” as she dives into a
jungle river to rescue Janis Lawson only to wind up
captured herself. (This is Janis’s first appearance also.)
Will Tara escape in time to save Janis from the clutches
of a giant octopus in “Lair of the Beast-men!” by Bill
Black. Then it’s an editorial featuring Sheena, Queen of
the Jungle with illustrations by Dan Adkins, Bill Black
and R.H. Webb with photos of Irish McCalla as TV’s Sheena.
The action continues as The Shade, Tara and Janis team up
to tackle the tentacled terror… but is there more to this
monster than meets the eye? Finally it’s the second
appearance of Captain Paragon and Mara (who would later be
known as the Femforce’s Stardust!) in “From the Turmoil… a
Friend?” as our hero seeks the aid of Dr. Richard Latimer
and his daughter Nicola Latimer in an effort to control
his awesome power. Front Cover of Tara by Bill Black. Back
cover is a recreation of the Ghost Rider #8 cover by Dick
Ayers. Originally published in 1971. This downloadable
edition is 31 pages, B&W, complete, uncut and uncensored. |
